Antique Pewter Spoons DE TANDMEESTER JAN STEEN The Tooth Master scene.
Pewter spoon. In its bowl is the scene of a dentist pulling a tooth. It is an old Dutch scene by Jan Steen (1626-1679) , actually made to be a print in the 17th century. But as the decoration of a spoon it is quite unusual. The handle of the spoon is decorated with two unidentified male heads and two (angel?) faces as well as a coat of arms with crossed keys (Vatican?).Spoon has some traces of use, but is generally in good shape. The backside is somewhat bumpy.each spoon is 7.5"long.
