The hamsa is a palm-shaped amulet popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Depicting the open right hand, an image recognized and used as a sign of protection in many times throughout history, the hamsa is believed by some, predominantly Jews, Christians and Muslims, to provide defense against the evil eye.
In this Ceramic Workshop students will be fully engaged in the artistic process, while working with the flexible and creative medium of clay. Our highly experienced teacher in ceramics, Tatiana, will guide you through the process of creating a beautiful hamsa from start to finish. Everyone in this class will have a beautiful hand-sculpted hamsa to take home with them after it's been fired in a kiln (ready for pick-up in approx. 1 week).
